"Eclipse"
Synopsis
A soldier yearns for the solace of home while a woman returns to find none. Eclipse is an existential interlude where two lives entwine in the quiet of a moment, amidst the chaos of modern-day Istanbul.
Eclipse, the 3rd place winner of the short films category at the Koycegiz National Film Festival (Turkey) in 2003 had also been screened at the Flying Broom Film Festival in Ankara (Turkey).
Petek Berksoy | Director
Istanbul born artist/coordinator Petek Berksoy has completed her post secondary education in Ottawa (Canada) then proceeded to work in the Toronto film industry as a production coordinator and assistant director. After spending more than a decade in Canada, working and producing art, Petek decided to go back to her roots and moved to Istanbul. Upon her return Petek worked with local and international arts organizations such as IKSV (Istanbul Arts and Culture Foundations) and Is Sanat and now she is freelancing as an artist and coordinator for arts and events organizations.
Her education in Film Studies and Psychology at the Carleton University provide the foundation for her predominant interest in stories about the individual’s journey to find themselves in psycho-social-urban surroundings. Her work is an articulation of the individual’s transcultural experience.
