expressions you threw

like so many flame spears of life burning

through peoples eyes, lenses, screens, lost days and the whole

intercontinental

intersexual

inter

mingled timezone thingie you rode

like a twinsexed mercury high on a white winged horse

but, oh boy, wonderchild, Boysan

riding a car on the freeway

and the selfie spree

pictorial tears of the left ones

screaming

for your presence, while you took off.

THE TRIANGLE PROJECT GPS PAINTING PERFORMANCE IN ISTANBUL

Above Triangle is the sketch for the Triangle GPS Painting Performance, between Europe and Asia, The Old City and the New City and over the Bosforus.

The Corner in Cihangir, where you can see Gezi Park above between the two highrise buildings in Blue.

The Triangle Corner in Gulhane Park, close to Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace, where there is also a lovely sculpture of Ataturk, sitting on a chair, much like HC Andersen sits on Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen or in New Yorks Central Park.

Ataturk above sitting among orange Tulips in Gulhane Park. It is also possible to sit in his lap and put your hand on his large broad chest and whisper in his ear: "What do You think of the Gezi Resistance, Mr Ataturk?"

If you look back all the way above at the Triangle between the three parks and the one here above, between Istanbul, New York and Copenhagen...they have a very similar shape.

Umut T. Eğitimci (above) documented The Triangle Project in Istanbul 2008
and made a lovely little film about the project's adventures. 

Now she is doing Stand-Up Comedy about the current state of the city.

On September 21st 2013, The Triangle Project Crew will collaborate with the Mini Muzik Hol Crew on an evening with Performances, Art Talks, Stand-up Comedy, Spoken Word Performances, Panel Discussions Music Performances and about what role Art has in Activism. In the above photo it is lovely to se all the Triangles that is part of the interior!

For several year we have tried to get their Resident Superstar DJ Baris K to Copenhagen in connection to the Distortion Festival. On September 21st, he will play after the various performances at 01:00am

THE TRIANGLE PROJECT PART 10 - ISTANBUL 2013 - LADY IN RED

Between 19th and 24t of September 2013 The Triangle Project will perform the 10th version of the project, in Istanbul. The first version of the project was performed in connection with the 10^th Istanbul Art Biennial in 2007, where over 50 Danish and Turkish artists performed, created and exhibited their work all over the city. Part 10 will include several aspects of Part 9 that was done in connection to Roskilde Festival 2013.

The above Triangle GPS Tag will be part of the performance, as the framework for the people involved.

The Copenhagen and Istanbul group of artists will co-create a project that will involve three parks in the city. One of the parks (TBA) will have interactions and sessions with the involved artists, including Live Music, Art Talks, Food Sharing, Dance, Spoken Word, Yoga, Meditation and showcasing of one or more of the Pyramid Tents.
They feature imagery from New York, Copenhagen, Istanbul along with an Alchemical formula. 

The above mini-models of the Pyramid Tents are images from Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen by Jacob Ehrbahn, Occupy Wall Street in New York by Brendon Stuart and to the far left a Alchemy Pyramid by Dalhof/Fuglsang.

The Istanbul Park that will be chosen (TBA) will be for some hours be transformed in to other parks, such as Zuccotti Park (New York), Christiania (Copenhagen) and Gezi Park (Istanbul).



The above Lady in Red Stencil by Ari Alpert was made at Roskilde Festival 2013 and have had its own life in various versions on all kinds of medium, including a sign at the Parade Performance at Roskilde Festival.

"Lady in Red"  is a recent drawing by Genco Gülan made during Gezi Occupation in Istanbul. Gülan made a series of drawings on paper inspired by the iconic images of the protests, as an artists response and contribution and will also be part of the Triangle Project Adventures in September 2013.

The Woman in Red was of course also a wonderful film from the 80's with Kelly LeBrok and Gene Wilder and Lady in Red the classic slowdance that a whole generation danced cheek to cheek to.



And then there is Portecho's  "Studio Plastico"

Ari Alpert talks to CNN about his Lady in Red Stencil at Roskilde Festival

Ari Alpert's Lady in Red sign from the Roskilde Festival Parade was put in a Studio (Not plastico) in Copenhagen. Soon thereafter the window was shot at and three holes was made with "a pump gun" according to the Police.

Another Lady in Red Pants is above Yana Sarna from Voina, who was part of the panel debate at Roskilde Festival. There will more Talks and Spoken Word, than debate in Istanbul. There is not really any debate, is there?

On September 21st, The Triangle Project Crew will collaborate with the Mini Muzikhol Crew. There will be a selection of Copenhagen and Istanbul based artists performing on stage from 23.00 - 01.00 and after that the superstar DJ Baris K will turn the dancefloor into lava. THE ACTIVIST PANEL DEBATE AT ROSKILDE FESTIVAL - ACTIVISM AS ART

The Triangle Project will at Roskilde Festival 2013 some-what have a role of a Trojan Horse. The Project has a signed contract with the Festival giving the crew of over 10 people a budget, places to sleep, food, drinks and has payed for the travel expenses for the New York, Istanbul and Berlin based Triangle Artists. Once inside the tightly secured premises af the festival, the Horse will open and a crew of Political Activists will bust out moves that will paint the Festival more Red Orange, than Blue Orange. There will be several Panel Debates, Workshops and an Activist Parade tagging the festival with a Triangle, via an APP.

Brendon Stuart - A photographer and artist based in Brooklyn New York. He has traveled by bus photographing the expanses of of the US geographic and social landscape, as well as visually document the rise of The Occupy Movement in the heart of New York. He explores interests in photographing subjects such as the idea of "The American Dream" as well as relationships between fact and fiction. This will be his first trip across the Atlantic to Denmark, where many of his family roots originate

Anup Yogi Desai - Lecturer of Geography and Philosophy at the City University of New York, a lifelong New Yorker who has spent time studying and living in Mexico City, and India. A person dedicated to educating the fortunate on the plight of the poor and someone who saw Occupy Wall Street as a way of being the truth that the poor have experienced to the masses.
For OWS he organized community events and marches with Soup Kitchens, after school centers and anti-war activists who have served in war (Veterans for Peace). Was part of the press team at OWS doing interviews and articles for news agencies around the world to spread our message

Peter Ahrenfeldt Schrøder from the Danish Activist group "SKIFT BANK/CHANGE BANK", who leading up to Roskilde Festival have initiated the challenge for the Festival to Change Bank away from the un-ethical Danske Bank.

Chapulling is a newly-coined word derived from Taksim Gezi Park/Istanbul/Turkey protests after the Prime Minister Erdogan's speech. He used the word "çapulcu" (normally means "looter", "marauder") to describe the peaceful demonstrators and then the social sites adapted this word to English with a new meaning: fighting for one's rights.

In a turn of events, the protesters quite quickly decided to take over the term to describe themselves as "çapulcu" and completely changed the meaning. Within days, it seemed that what was once a term describing something negative became the opposite.

All around the world, supporters for the Gezi Park events started taking photos of themselves showing "I'm chapulcu, as well" and posting it on social media addressed at the protesters in Turkey.

Soon, even mainstream media outside of Turkey started using the term, first slowly but growing by the hour.

English language teachers in Turkey started describing the use of the term in videos ("I chapul", "I chapulled", etc.).

Chapul (verb): (/ˈtʃapu(ə)ːl/ regular, -ed): To resist force, demand justice, seek one's rights.

Chapuller (noun): (/ˈtʃapu(ə)ːlə/): A person who resists force, demands justice and seeks his/her rights.
